A L.E.A.P.S. heteroconjugate vaccine containing a T cell epitope from HSV-1 glycoprotein D elicits Th1 responses and protection.
|
| description: |
The L.E.A.P.S.TM heteroconjugate vaccine antigen, composed of this T cell epitope from glycoprotein D of herpes simplex virus linked with a peptide sequence from beta-2-microglobulin, elicited protection against lethal intraperitoneal challenge. The sera from animals surviving this experiment were subjected to isotype analysis for antibody specific for HSV-infected cell extract. The IgG2a/IgG1 ratio was >1, indicative of a Th1 response.
