Mice immunized with R13 EEEDDDMGFGLFD were challenged with T cruzi, and the level of parasitemia detected at 15, 18, and 20 days after infection was lower than in control mice. Immunized mice also had definite ECG abnormalities such as diminished heart frequency and intraventricular conduction disturbances.
