Protection against foot-and-mouth disease by immunization with a chemically synthesized peptide predicted from the viral nucleotide sequence.
description:
Swiss-Prot positions are based on the full-length polyprotein, whereas author-assigned positions correspond to the VP1 portion of the polyprotein.
All animals in both groups receiving 200 μg of this conjugated peptide had significant neutralization titers using either aluminum hydroxide gel or Freund's adjuvant. In groups receiving 20 μg of conjugated peptide, titers ranged from baseline to significant.
