Characterization of monoclonal antibody MEST-2 specific to glucosylceramide of fungi and plants.
|
| description: |
The epitope is derived from glucosylceramide of fungi and plants.
The epitope specific mAb MEST-2 bound to monohexosyl ceramide (CMH)/glucosylceramide (GlcCer) from yeast and mycelium forms of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Histoplasma capsulatum, and Sporothrix schenckii; mycelia of Aspergillus fumigatus; yeast forms of Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, C. laurentii, and C. albidus and GlcCer from soybean. Similar results were observed by RIA and immunofluorescence staining. The mAb did not recognize GlcCer from Gaucher's spleen or bovine buttermilk which does not contain 2'-OH fatty acids.
