The immunoprecipitation, using infected cell lysates, demonstrated that epitope-specific MAb C5 was reactive with lower matrix phosphoprotein (65 kDa) and two other translational products (50 and 52 kDa) from a variant transcript. In a separate experiment, immunoblotting with MAb C5 against viral proteins (denatured) identified a 65 kDa protein as well.
