name:
Antibodies to synthetic peptides from the preS1 region of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) envelope (env) protein are virus-neutralizing and protective.
description:
Anti-epitope [preS(21-47)] sera produced in rabbits was mixed with HBV and then injected into chimpanzees in an in vivo neutralization assay. One out of two chimpanzees remained uninfected, suggesting that the anti-sera was neutralizing.
