name:
B-cell epitopes in hypervariable region 1 of hepatitis C virus obtained from patients with chronic persistent hepatitis.
description:
The peptide is derived from a consensus sequence of residues 384-414 from hypervariable domain 1 (HVR1) within the N-terminus of the HCV E2 protein.
Serum from one of 3 patients with chronic hepatitis C reacted with the epitope from the hypervariable domain 1 (HVR1) within the N-terminus of the E2 protein. An increase in titer was observed after IFN-alpha2b treatment in this patient but not in the other two patients.
