description:	Epitope-specific mAb 4-39-CC neutralized in a plaque reduction assay RVFV isolates from Egypt, Uganda, Central and South Africa, Kenya, and Zimbabwe that did not have differences in the deduced epitope sequence. Amino acid Lys294 was shown to be a critical residue because the SNS isolate from Uganda with a single amino acid change of Lys to Glu reduced the neutralization titer of mAb 4-39-CC almost 100-fold.
