description:	This epitope is a mimotope of a presumed discontinuous epitope on the cross-reactive allergens Bet v 1 (Betula pendula), Gly m 4 (Glycine max), Ara h 8 (Arachis hypogaea), and Pru av 1 (prunus avium). Immobilized IgE from patient #1 of 5 patients immunoselected the epitope from a phage library of random 7-mer peptides. Immobilized IgE coated with amplified phage expressing the epitope was competed by recombinant Bet v 1 allergen. The epitope was confirmed to bind strongly (OD_{450 nm} >2) to IgE in phage ELISA.
