Expression of BARF1 gene encoded by Epstein-Barr virus in nasopharyngeal carcinoma biopsies.
|
| description: |
The level of BARF1 protein expression in P3HR1 cells was examined using antipeptide serum before and after induction of the viral lytic cycle. The levels significantly increased after induction of the EBV lytic cycle in correlation with the proportion of early antigen-expressing cells. No p31 protein was detected in Rael cells in which EBV expression is characteristic of type I latency. In further experiments, similar results were obtained in Western blot analysis of BARF1 protein expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) xenografts and in NPC biopsies.
