Binding characteristics determine the neutralizing potential of antibody fragments specific for antigenic domain 2 on glycoprotein B of human cytomegalovirus.
description:
The epitope specific antibody was shown to bind to HCMV strain AD169-infected cells. The ability of a clonally related repertoire of antibody fragments to neutralize the virus varied greatly depending on the fine-specificity and kinetics of the interaction with the antigen. Similar results were obtained when the half-lives of scFv and antigen were measured using BIAcore.
