By direct binding and competition ELISAs, the epitope-specific mAb A16 bound to an analog of the epitope, the peptide LK(Nle)ADPNRFRGKDL (methionine is replaced by norleucine), either as a peptide or linked to various types of carrier molecules (tetratuftsin analog sequential oligopeptide carrier, branched chain polypeptide, poly-Lys, MAP and KLH). The epitope analog is recognized more efficiently with the carrier molecules than as a free peptide.
