description:	This epitope is composed of a 3-deoxy-D-manno-octulosonic acid (Kdo) trisaccharide of alpha-Kdo-(2-8)-alpha-Kdo-(2-4)-alpha-Kdo from genus-specific LPS of Chlamydia. Epitope specific mAb S25-23 bound LPS and O-deacylated LPS from recombinant E. coli encoding Kdo transferase WaaA from Chlamydophila trachomatis, C. pneumoniae, or C. psittaci. Similar results were obtained with LPS purified from Chlamydia or generated by in vitro reaction.
