This epitope is a mimotope of Phl p 5a (Phleum pratense) residues 195-205.
The phage-displayed epitope, isolated by competitive elution, reacted moderately with Phl p 5a-specific IgE purified from patient sera. The phage-displayed epitope partially (5.5%) inhibited Phl p 5a-specific IgE from binding to Phl p 5a as assayed by surface plasmon resonance. The epitope did not inhibit Bet v 1-specific IgE binding to Bet v 1. The epitope was constrained by Cys residues in the phage.
