| name: |
Immunogenicity of variable regions of hepatitis C virus proteins: selection and modification of peptide epitopes to assess hepatitis C virus genotypes by ELISA.
|
| description: |
This peptide is conserved among serotypes 1a and 1b of HCV. The author's provided positions may not match the Swiss-prot/Genebank positions as the author indicates the position relative to a consensus HCV genotype.
Additional alanine residue(s) were added to the synthesized peptide at the C- terminal end, and in some cases at the N-terminal end as well, for ease of synthesis and to improve binding to the solid phase of short peptides. Upon homopolimerization of this peptide antigen, similar results were obtained. Number of responders is an aproximate value.
