An experimental and modeling-based approach to locate IgE epitopes of plant profilin allergens.
|
| description: |
IgE from a serum pool and from one or more of 4 individual sera from patients with melon allergy reacted strongly with the epitope. Based on 3D modeling and analysis of solvent exposure and electrostatic properties, the authors identified the epitope sequence as part of a complex epitope, E2 (residues 95-99 and 122-131), which partially overlaps with the actin binding site.
