Serum IgE from one of 3 house dust mite-allergic patients bound weakly to the epitope coupled to Sepharose. Sera from 46 patients with high dust mite sensitization showed less than 4% binding to the epitope except for one serum (24%). However, patient serum IgE was not inhibited from binding to the epitope coupled to Sepharose by whole-body extract from house dust mites.
