A glycine-rich bovine herpesvirus 5 (BHV-5) gE-specific epitope within the ectodomain is important for BHV-5 neurovirulence.
|
| description: |
The anti-gE5 epitope-specific antibody detected the gE5 protein band from the wild-type (BHV-5) virus lysate, but not from the gE5 epitope-deleted BHV-5 lysates. In separate pulse-chase experiments visualized through immunoprecipitation analysis, these antibodies also bound the epitope. The gE5 epitope-deleted virus has reduced neural spread and neurovirulence.
