| name: |
Expression and epitope analysis of the major allergenic protein Fag e 1 from buckwheat.
|
| description: |
The common buckwheat (F. esculentum Moench) strain BC6F2 was established by 6 backcrosses and one selfing following interspecific hybridization between common buckwheat (cv. Miyazakizairai) and F. homotropicum Ohnishi. An internal source ID is assigned, because the sequence provided in the reference differs from those found by BLAST at position 6.
Pooled serum IgE from 8 patients with buckwheat allergy reacted with the epitope by a SPOT assay. The core epitope sequence was deduced to be residues 113-118 (KAGNEG) through study of overlapping peptides. Single amino acid substitutions with Ala or Met did not establish critical residues in the sequence.
