| name: |
A pre-PEXEL histidine-rich protein II erythrocyte binding peptide as a new way for anti-malarial vaccine development.
|
| description: |
This epitope is an analog of a Plasmodium falciparum histidine-rich protein II epitope (HRP-II aa 24-43 NNSAFNNNLCSKNAKGLNLN).
Monkeys were infected with 200,000 P. falciparum-infected RBC for challenge 20 days after the last immunization. Protection was defined as being the total absence of parasites as assessed by Acridine Orange staining in blood during the 15 days of the experiment.
