Immunization with a peptide derived from the G glycoprotein of bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) reduces the incidence of BRSV-associated pneumonia in the natural host.
|
| description: |
This protein was derived from the G protein epitope 174-187 of BRSV (strain 391-2). Here, residues 186 (C to S) and 187 (H to K) have been altered.
Mice immunized with the epitope conjugated to KLH produced BRSV-specific antibodies 100-fold higher than controls. These antibodies were found to be non-neutralizing in a separate assay.
