| name: |
Heterotypic protection induced by synthetic peptides corresponding to three serotypes of foot-and-mouth disease virus.
|
| description: |
This peptide is comprised of two epitopes (RHKQPLIAPAKQLL , aa 207-220, and ASARRGDLAHLAAAHARH, aa 148-165) derived from the VP1 protein of foot and mouth disease virus strain C3 Indaial, Genbank accession no. 130447. The peptides are linked by the amino acid residues PPS and are synthesized with two amino-terminal cysteine residues and a carboxy-terminal PCG.
One of five animals was protected by C40 from heterotypic challenge with serotype A. At the higher dose, 1/5 animals were also protected.
