description:	This peptide is comprised of two epitopes (RHKQPLIAPAKQLL , aa 207-220, and ASARRGDLAHLAAAHARH, aa 148-165) derived from the VP1 protein of foot and mouth disease virus strain C₃ Indaial, Genbank accession no. 130447. The peptides are linked by the amino acid residues PPS and are synthesized with two amino-terminal cysteine residues and a carboxy-terminal PCG. One of five animals was protected by C40 from heterotypic challenge with serotype A. At the higher dose, 1/5 animals were also protected.
