description:	This peptide is comprised of two epitopes (RHKQKIIAPAKQLL , aa 189-202, and GSGRRGDMGSLAARVVKQ, aa 129-146) derived from the VP1 protein of foot and mouth disease virus strain A₂₄ Cruzeiro, Genbank accession no. 130446. The peptides are linked by the amino acid residues PPS and are synthesized with two amino-terminal cysteine residues and a carboxy-terminal PCG. Protection of two of three animals was achieved in homotypic challenge. At the lower dose, 1/3 cattle were protected.
