| name: |
Utilisation of bacteriophage display libraries to identify peptide sequences recognised by equine herpesvirus type 1 specific equine sera.
|
| description: |
This sequence was tested as an antigen for EHV-1 infected sera since it has homology to a random peptide obtained from a phage display library panned with sera from an EHV-1 infected horse. The epitope was selected from a phage display library.
The peptide was recognized by 1 of 1 EHV-1 (strain RAH-C)-immune serum, and by 6 out of 6 sera from SPF ponies and 5 of 6 conventional ponies infected with EHV-1 (strain AB4) as well, while no significant binding by EHV-4 infected sera was observed.
