The epitope of Fab G17.12 on the C-terminal fragment of the P. falciparum merozoite surface protein 1 was determined from the crystal structure of the complex, solved by molecular replacement. In the structure, two antibody-antigen complexes are present that are slightly different in their antigen binding sites. Here, the first complex (chains A,B,C) is curated.
