The epitope of D44.1 Fab on hen egg white lysozyme (HEL) was determined from the structure of the complex solved by molecular replacement. The structure [PDB:1MLC] contains two complexes Fab-HEL with the same epitope and paratope residues, but differ slightly by number of Fab-HEL contacts, and also slightly different conformation of Fab; therefore two complexes are curated as separate assays.
