description:	The epitope, along with other peptides with the consensus sequence QXXPLXL[V/I], was selected as a mimotope of the neutral polysaccharide fraction, mainly containing mannan and arabinomannan, of cell-wall antigens of M. tuberculosis. The IgG fraction of polyclonal anti-NPS antibodies was used for panning of a random phage-displayed peptide library. This peptide was selected, and its reactivity was confirmed in ELISA as a free synthetic peptide with a GGGS extension at the C-terminus.
