Possible mimotope of Brucella sp. LPS M epitope. Immunization with the phage particle displaying this peptide is reported to induce weak anti-LPS responses in mice. Peptide selected from phage display library by biopanning against a mAb specific for M epitope of LPS from Brucella. Other mAbs against LPS do not recognize this peptide (Figure 1).
This epitope competes with the binding of Ab A15-6B3 to type M LPS. This effect was also seen with the phage particle expressing the epitopic peptide in both an identical and in the reciprocal assay (fig 2).
