Surface expression of an immunodominant malaria protein B cell epitope by yellow fever virus.
|
| description: |
Dominant epitope of CS protein of P. falciparum sporozoites. The circumsporozoite protein is the immunodominant surface antigen on the sporozoite (the infective stage of the malaria parasite that is transmitted from the mosquito to the vertebrate host). It harbors several tandem repeats of the epitopic sequence.
Vero cells infected with yellow fever virus expressing P. falciparum epitope are recognized by monoclonal antibody against the epitope. This antibody is also shown to immunoprecipitate E viral protein-epitope chimera from cell lysates.
