Neutralizing peptide ligands selected from phage-displayed libraries mimic the conformational epitope on domain III of the Japanese encephalitis virus envelope protein.
description:
This peptide is shown to mimic envelope (E) protein from Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) in its binding to a neutralizing antibody and by eliciting neutralizing antibodies. 12-mer peptide Phage display library was screened with mAb E3.3 with 3 rounds of biopanning to find peptides able to induce a protective response against JEV.
Neutralization of JEV plaque formation by sera of mice immunized with phage clone was studied. Immunization was performed with or without adjuvant, producing similar results.
