Characterization of TgROP9 (p36), a novel rhoptry protein of Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites identified by T cell clone.
|
| description: |
Predicted B cell epitope, it was used to obtain rabbit polyclonal antibodies, shown to recognize source protein in WB and in intracellular parasites. Novel protein from source species. Shown to be a soluble constituent of tachyzoites, and suggested to be called ROP9.
16 h after infection with tachyzoites, fibroblast monolayers were stained with polyclonal rabbit Abs raised against epitope. The source protein was recognized in intracellular parasites in a pattern that resembles ROP2 and ROP3 proteins of the secretory organelle known as rhoptry.
