A similar positive response was shown using the hemagglutinin-esterase protein of the Influenza c virus (C/Aichi/1/81) strain, which had a glutamic acid substitution at position 403. When a Lysine substitution was made at position 403, there was no reactivity. A second monoclonal antibody, D37, also gave positive results. The monoclonal antibody was also shown to cross-react with the large T antigen of SV40.
