name:
A common neutralizing epitope conserved between the hemagglutinins of influenza A virus H1 and H2 strains.
description:
The epitope was identified based on the sequence variations in two Influenza variants that did not react with the monoclonal antibody. Sequence homology between various strains in the vicinity of the variant amino acids led to the deduced epitopic regions. The regions were located close to each other at the middle of the stem region of the Hemagglutinin molecule.
