Antigenicity and immunogenicity of phage library-selected peptide mimics of the major surface proteophosphoglycan antigens of Entamoeba histolytica.
|
| description: |
This peptide, along with others sharing the GTHPXL consensus motif, mimics the surface proteophosphoglycans (PPGs, a.k.a. lipophosphoglycan) of Entamoeba histolytica in its reactivity to an anti-PPG monoclonal antibody, EH5.
The phage-displayed epitope was selected from a random sequence library by panning with the mAb. The reactivity to the phage was confirmed in ELISA. Also, the membrane preparation of E. histolytica used to generate the mAb competes with the peptide in binding to the mAb.
