This peptide is part of an immunoreactive domain (aas 1403-1456 in the viral polyprotein sequence) of protein P3C, with mild reactivity with acute-phase sera samples. Swiss-prot ID and positions correspond to the genome polyprotein, not to the mature source protein.
24.4% of acute phase sera recognize this peptide while 3.7% of normal human sera samples do. Analysis of reactivity of seroconversion panels from humans or chimpanzees (not shown) reveals that the reactivity seen is short lasting, correlating with an acute phase indicator (ALT levels).
