name:
Submolecular recognition profiles in two mouse strains of non-protective and protective antibodies against botulinum neurotoxin A.
description:
Protective sera (day 36 postimmunization) were collected from mice and pooled. IgG was measured by RIA of a 1:250 dilution of the sera. Between days 26 and 36 postimmunization, a switch was observed from non-protective to protective antisera. Protection was mostly associated with the immunoglobulin class of the antibodies. IgM antibodies were non-protective, while IgG antibodies produced after the switch were protective.
