Immunological characteristics associated with the protective efficacy of antibodies to ricin.
|
| description: |
Phage displayed peptides recognized by a mAb raised against source protein chain A (RAC) share the motif QXXWXXA, which provides a best fit with Q173 A178 W211 on RAC sequence. Swiss-prot ID and positions correspond to the ricin precursor, containing Signal peptide, Chain A, linker peptide and Chain B.
The mAb recognizing this sequence is able to bind to RCA and complete holotoxin, both in ELISA and western blot assays. It has a strong relative avidity for the complete toxin.
