Inhibition of staphylococcal enterotoxin A-induced superantigenic and lethal activities by a monoclonal antibody to toxic shock syndrome toxin-1.
|
| description: |
The monoclonal antibody (MAb5) is a known anti-toxic shock syndrome toxin-1 antibody. MAb5 significantly inhibited 125I-labeled staphylococcal enterotoxin A binding to human monocytes in a dose-dependentmanner. MAb5 also inhibited staphylococcal enterotoxin A-induced T cell mitogenesis in human PBMC in a dose-dependent manner, and was further shown to inhibit staphylococcal enterotoxin A-induced TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, and IL-6 production from human PBMC.
