Antibodies raised against strain A/FM/1/47 of influenza virus, where residue K82 is mutated to a R residue, are shown to have a decrease in the hemagglutination inhibition titers when assayed with strains harboring this residue, but the equilibrium constant (K) of the reaction is higher with the strains harboring this epitope.
