Variation of the conserved neutralizing epitope in influenza B virus victoria group isolates in Japan.
|
| description: |
Monoclonal antibody 10B8 exhibited hemagglutination-inhibition activity against the B/Osaka/983/1997 strain, but it did not react with five B/Victoria isolates (DDBJ accession no. AB081570, AB081571, AB083182, AB083183, and AB196144). Genetic analysis revealed a single amino acid substitution at position 164 of the epitope in several of these isolates. A second monoclonal antibody, 10D7, generated against one of these new isolates, showed similar reactivity patterns.
