name:
Antigenic determinants of influenza virus hemagglutinin. XII. the epitopes of a synthetic peptide representing the C-terminus of HA1.
description:
No particular strain of H3N2 subtype is referred in the database. A representative Swiss-prot ID is given here.
Mem71 virus is the parental strain of the X-31 recombinant virus and it contains the HA from Mem71. Serum from mice immunized with the epitope showed much lower reactivity to Mem71 virus strain when compared with the Mem71 HA protein or the epitope peptide (C-terminus H3.HA1) used as antigen in assay. Antiserum was nor reactive to Jap (H2)virus. Acid-treatment of the virus strain Mem71 seems to significantly increase the binding of polyclonal antibodies raised against the peptide C-terminus H3.HA1.
