| name: |
The structure of an antigenic determinant in a protein.
|
| description: |
This peptide corresponds to the region called Site 3 by the authors. This sequence is essentially buried in the native structure of HA, except for some of the atoms of residues at each end. At the carboxyl-end, R90, S91 and K92 form a sharp protrusion with approximate dimensions 14 x 9 x 8A.
Hybridoma supernatants were assayed against overlapping peptides covering the 36 aa-immunizing pepitde. This mAb was maped to this epitope. The immunizing peptide was also recognized in ELISA.
