| name: |
An antigenic map of the haemagglutinin of the influenza Hong Kong subtype (H3N2), constructed using mouse monoclonal antibodies.
|
| description: |
These residues are part of the target area B, which is composed in this strain by residues G129, Y155, S157, G158, S159, A160, D188,Q189, R201 located at the top of the HA1 molecule.""""
The possible binding sites (target areas) of a panel of 22 anti-PC73 mAbs was determined by correlation of cross-reactivity of mAbs with sequence differences in variants of the hemagglutinin in heterologous strains of the influenza subtype H3N2. A group of 2 of these antibodies, named group 5, is affected by mutations at the epitopic residues. Effect of mutations at residues 129 and 159 are less evident than at the remaining residues.
