| description: |
This peptide was 1 of 2 identified by B cell epitope scanning of the Chlamydia psittaci (B577) omp1 protein using 26 overlapping 8-mer peptides to the VD4 region. Immune sera from rabbits and mice was used to establish reactivity to each peptide. Ultimately, the 12-mer LNLTTWNPTLLG was selected based on its high reactivity to all antisera. SwissProt ID provided represents best homology to sequence in paper.
Bovine sera were used to evaluate reactivites in the C. psittaci (B577) VD4 LNLTTWNPTLLG peptide by ELISA. Comparisons were made to this ELISA using reference methods LPS ELISA and the complement fixation test (CFT). All bovine sera reactive to this peptide. Only one animal tested positive by CFT, and responses to LPS ELISA tended to be slightly lower than those of the peptide.
