name:
Fine specificity and sequence of antibodies directed against the ectodomain of matrix protein 2 of influenza A virus.
description:
This peptide represents an N and C terminal truncation of the full length M2e 2-25 peptide [SLLTEVETPIRNEWGCRCNGSSD] of influenza A virus (PR8).
The specificity of a panel of mAbs to truncated M2e peptides was tested by IC50 in ELISA format. Peptide M2e 4-16, with both N and C terminal truncations, bound as well as or out-competed the longer M2e 2-25 for binding to the mAbs. The M2e 4-16 peptide bound well to mAb 14C2, and this response was significantly higher than that of full-length M2e 2-25.
