The PEPSCAN method was used to locate antibody-reactive peptides within the sequence of the nucleocapsid protein (N) of Puumala virus. In total, 86 peptides (10 amino acids with 5-amino-acid overlaps) were synthesized and tested with sera from four serologically confirmed nephropathia epidemica patients.
