This epitope was identified from a fragmented genome phage display library from which MAP-1 gene was excluded, derived from the rickettsia Cowdria ruminantium by antibodies against MAP1.
The phage displayed epitope (peptide) originally immunopanned with anti-MAP1 antibodies (goat anti-MAP1 antibodies purified from serum) did not bind to the same antibodies in ELISA and western blot assays.
