The dengue 1-specific monoclonal antibody was found to bind the synthetic peptide. The peptide was synthesized in an eight-chain branched form (8 x HKYSWK). The peptide sequence was determined based on monoclonal antibody binding to a random peptide library displayed on phage. After three rounds of screening, a consensus motif, HRYSWK, was found.
