name:
A Salmonella typhimurium htrA live vaccine expressing multiple copies of a peptide comprising amino acids 8-23 of herpes simplex virus glycoprotein D as a genetic fusion to tetanus toxin fragment C protects mice from herpes simplex virus infection.
description:
The author identified positions reflect that of th mature protein
here the source is the precursor.
Virus load in ears of HSV-1 (strain SC16)-challenged mice were reduced if they received prior immunizations with S. typhimurium live vaccines transfected with a plasmid that encodes multiple copies of a peptide containing the epitope (HSV-1 gD peptide 8-23:SLKMADPNRFRGKDLP). Serum antibody titres from these mice correlated well with the viral load reduction.
