Epitope specificity and isoforms of the mycobacterial 19-kilodalton antigen.
|
| description: |
Western blotting analysis of soluble extracts prepared from 14 different mycobacterial species indicated that all non M. tuberculosis-complex species tested were negative. Despite sharing extensive sequence homology at the p15 epitope with M. avium subsp. avium and M. avium subsp. intracellulare (15 identical residues out of 20), cross-reactivity was observed neither with the M. avium-intracellulare complex nor with M. kansasii, M. marinum, or M. duvalii.
